The Semiconductor Technical Support Microcontroller KnowledgeBase is an interactive, on-line system for helping you
resolve your problem over the Internet. You use your Web browser
to interact with the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase by describing your problem and answering
questions that help the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase guide
you to the solution you need. The Microcontroller KnowledgeBase searches its repository
of known solutions (the KnowledgeBase) and presents you with
the solutions that are most likely to solve your problem. Every time
you refine the description of your problem or answer questions,
the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase displays a new page with
recommendations based on your refinements. Continue to interact with the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase until
you find the solution to your problem. If you cannot find a solution,
click the E-mail Technical Support link to request
direct support.

Searching the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase

The Semiconductor Technical Support Microcontroller KnowledgeBase allows you to search the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase using "Natural Language".

SEARCH using "Natural Language"

In the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase Search Box, Using Natural, Conversational Language, ask a Question or otherwise describe your problem and click the Search button. the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase searches the knowledge
base and matches your problem description to the entries stored
there and returns the logical matches in "decending order", ie best matches return within the first 30 solutions.
When describing a problem, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- The Microcontroller KnowledgeBase automatically expands your query to cover synonyms
for your search terms.
- The Microcontroller KnowledgeBase automatically ignores common words like "the",
"as", "at", etc.
- If the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase displays a list of terms next to the search box, check
any that are appropriate. the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase is more likely to find solutions
that include those terms.
- You can always refine your query later on. When refining a
query you can expand the description of your problem or enter
a completely new query. the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase will run the new query against
all the solutions in your KnowledgeBase.

Working with the Solutions List

After you have selected a problem or performed a search, the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase
displays a list of solutions for you to consider. The solutions
are ranked in order with Solutions most likely to solve your problem
located at the top.
The Microcontroller KnowledgeBase displays a predetermined number of solutions on this page.
To view the next page of
solutions in this set, click See More Search Results....
- To view more details about a specific
solution, click the title of the solution.
- To reduce the number of available solutions, review the
clarifying questions, answering any
that are relevant.

Viewing a Solution

When the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase displays a solution, it presents the following
information:
- A detailed description of the actions required to execute
the solution.
- The problems related to this solution.
- The possible cause of the problem.
- An optional list of additional attachments (images, videos and other
multimedia files) that might help you execute the solution.

Answering Clarifying Questions

The Microcontroller KnowledgeBase displays clarifying questions
associated with the problem you have identified and with the solutions
stored in
the KnowledgeBase. Based on your answers, the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase filters
the possible solutions and presents the solutions most likely
to solve your problem.
- To answer a question, select the appropriate answer from the
drop down box.
- If you need more instructions in order to answer the question,
click the Details button next to the question.
- You can always undo or change an answer you give the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase.
Go to the Change Your Mind section of the page,
find the question and your answer, and change it.

Changing Your Answers

If you have answered any questions during your session, you can change your answer
without having to back up through your session using your browser's Back button.
Simply press the Change Your Mind button
and all the questions that you have answered will be displayed. You can then change any of your
answers and continue on with your session.

Getting Assistance from our Product Information Center

At any point during a the Microcontroller KnowledgeBase session, you may click the E-mail Technical Support
link to request additional help from our Product Information Center.
When sending a request for assistance, make sure you complete
the required fields. Enter your name, email address, request, etc. The Microcontroller KnowledgeBase automatically captures your Session Log when you
make this request. To send the request, click the Submit button.
