JTAG Compatibility

Most TI DSPs support the IEEE 1149.1 JTAG Compatible Programmers.  This programmer is used to support boundary scan tests and provide emulation of the DSP for purposes of debugging.   This section of the data sheet includes details on how JTAG communications are initiated, and how to configure the JTAG pins.

When a JTAG Programmer is not being used,  the pins used for JTAG must be configured to prevent unknown conditions from occurring.  Resisters are used to tie some pins low to establish a known condition and allow the use of multiple daisy chained DSPs to exist on one interconnected bus.

TI's JTAG compatible devices require specific conditions to be met before communication can start.  This data is provided in this section.
