Anatomy of a DSP Data Sheet
Introduction
To assist component and system-design engineers in selecting Texas Instruments (TI) DSP products, this tutorial is a synopsis of the information available from a typical TI data sheet. Information includes a brief description of terms, definitions, and testing procedures currently used for commercial and military specifications. Symbols, terms, and definitions generally are in accordance with those currently agreed upon by the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association for use in the USA and by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) for international use. This Tutorial contains navigation links that drill deeper and deeper into each section. The order and layout of this tutorial should match the order and layout of the data sheet.
Top-Level Look at the TI DSP Data Sheet
The TI DSP data sheet presents pertinent technical information for a particular device and is organized for quick access. This tutorial dissects a typical TI DSP data sheet and describes the organization of all data sheets.
Typically, there are eleven sections in TI DSP data sheets:
2. DSP Core and Peripherals Summary
3. DSP Tools and Documentation
6. Recommended operating conditions
8. Parameter measurement information
11. Mechanical Data
This tutorial contains some parameters from the Understanding and Interpreting Standard Logic Data Sheets application report (SZZA036). To download the full PDF version of this application report, please use the following URL: http://www-s.ti.com/sc/techlit/szza036.pdf
