Maximum Junction Temperature Parameter (TJ)

Problem:
What is meant by the maximum junction temperature parameter (TJ)?

Solution:
The maximum junction temperature parameter, TJ, is defined as the temperature over which the die may be operated. Some of the other parameters may change with temperature, leading to degraded operation at temperature extremes. TJ is expressed in units of °C.

TJ is listed in the absolute maximum ratings table because stress beyond those listed may cause permanent damage to the device. Functional operation to this limit is not implied and may affect reliability.
