Current Feedback Analog Filter Expert
Problem:
How does a designer implement an analog op-amp filter design using current feedback amplifiers?
Solution:
This is the Texas Instruments current feedback filter design expert. There are some topics that are too advanced for the knowledgebase format, but the
designer will at least be offered references for more advanced filter design topics.
Although there are significant advantages to current feedback amplifiers, the choice of topologies is limited. This is due to two restrictions:
- The feedback resistor that is recommended on the data sheet should be used with the device. Any filter topology that must use a short in the feedback loop cannot be
used.
- There can be no capacitor in the feedback loop of the amplifier.
The designer must be willing to adapt to new techniques to make use of options that are available.
