Locating or Identifying a Software Bug for TI Tools and Hardware

Problem:
How do I locate problems with TI tools when I am not sure what component or even if there is a known issue?

Solution:
TI offers several different methods for locating a TI Tool bug for DSP software or hardware. Three of these resources are defined below

Every released bug currently known on all version of TI tools is available by searching the DSP Knowledge Base using the Search engine. Simply put in the language of the error, or use keywords to locate a specific issue you wish to identify. These Keywords can include versions of the tool, family, or component. You can improve the accuracy of the search by answering the Questions in the Narrow Your Search section below the search box. For example, you need to select the `TI Software Bugs` from the `Document type` question to look exclusively for software bugs.

TI has also recently released a Bug look-up tool to provide lists of bugs available for given versions, platforms, and tools. This tool can be used to proactively search for all bugs for a given platform, version, or tool. This tool also includes all released bugs currently on the TI web site. In addition this tool provides the capability to search for specific bugs using their unique ID. This tool simplifies tracking of a specific issue. This application is located http://focus.ti.com/general/docs/buglist/bugsearch.tsp?templateId=5121&navigationId=11278

Finally, the TI site search located in the header of all TI web pages can be used to search for a Tool Bug using keywords. In addition, the Advanced Search link is provided to specify only Tool bugs when the Software Tools box is checked.
